Seth woke up in the early hours of this morning because of a nasty stomach bug. Cammie and I were half asleep as we cared for our amazing little guy. After Cammie changed him I began rinsing his bedding in the bathroom sink and then got his bed ready for him to go back to sleep. For the rest of the night Cammie slept next to him as his nausea woke him up multiple times.

I found much encouragement from Psalm 121 this morning in that while we were trying our best to care for our son, God was caring for all of us:

I lift my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to slip;
your Protector will not slumber.
Indeed, the Protector of Israel
does not slumber or sleep.

The Lord protects you;
the Lord is a shelter right by your side.

The sun will not strike you by day
or the moon by night.

The Lord will protect you from all harm;
he will protect your life.
The Lord will protect your coming and going
both now and forever.

We can be reminded of the fact that God is the source of the help that we need when we pause, look up, and acknowledge Him in any situation. He is the One who we can always depend on because he does not sleep or slumber. And even when we are exhausted and trying our best in difficult situations, He is always there to strengthen us!

Much love,
Luke
