How long will it take for us to realize that we are God's agents of light? It is through the channels of our daily lives that He shines the light of His message of love in the world today. So how do we become agents of light? How do we penetrate the marketplace? How can we bring glory to God and touch the lives of the people we meet and mingle with on a daily basis in a positive life-changing, eternity-altering way?

Fan or Follower?

Are you a follower of Christ or just a Fan? You see there are many followers who, if they are perfectly honest with themselves, might fall more into the category of fans. The most basic definition of a fan is ‘an enthusiastic admirer.’ It’s the guy who goes to a rugby match with the South African flag painted on his face; he stands and cheers wildly for the Springbok squad. He may even have a signed jersey hanging on his wall. But he’s never in the game. He never breaks a sweat or takes a hard hit on the field. He knows all about the players and can rattle off all the latest stats, but he doesn’t know the players. He yells and cheers but nothing is required of him. There is no sacrifice on his part. He’s simply an enthusiastic admirer.

Keeping Jesus Central

The most iconic Christian Christmas image is without a doubt the nativity or manger scene. There’s the barn and a star, and then there’s always the same set of characters – the angels, and Mary, and Joseph, and the Wise Men, and the shepherds, and baby Jesus is always at the centre of the manger scene; and that’s simply because that’s exactly where Jesus belongs. All the other characters point to Him. Christmas is all about Jesus. He is the reason for the season.
