Dogged Faith

Audio Recording

Have you, in this dry stretch, stumbled and find yourself struggling to get up again. Does it feel like God is distant or hidden? Are you feeling the toll of this pandemic: physically, mentally, spiritually? We find ourselves asking: How will this affect our children? Will our country recover? Will we ever be able to regain what we have lost?

You’ve been holding onto your faith but man is it getting tough! When is God going to come through? That candle of faith may be sputtering. There doesn’t seem to be any breakthrough.

If you are finding yourself in this place, it is time for dogged faith.

“Don’t You Care, Lord?”

Audio Recording

When the inevitable storms of life, suddenly and often without warning, thrust themselves upon our existence, we are prone to cry out “Don’t you care Lord?” just as the panicked disciples did.

Whenever fear comes, whenever doubt comes, whenever you’re anxious, whenever you’re worried and upset, whenever you’re questioning, being deceived into thinking that God doesn’t care, or has somehow forgotten you, then you’ve got to remember what you already have. You have to take inventory. Just think for a moment what it is that the disciples knew as they faced that terrifying storm that evening on the Sea of Galilee?  What did they have to match the storm?

Faith: Ventured Trust

Audio Recording

Faith requires not trust from a distance but an entrusting ourselves where we venture or risk ourselves and our wellbeing to some thing or person. To truly place our faith in a chair, we must sit down and risk the chair’s collapsing. Faith is believing the Word of God and then acting upon it, not responding to our perceptions.
