For thousands of believers who have placed their faith in Jesus, baptism has been an act of obedience. As they plunged beneath the water – representing their death to their old life of sin – and rose up out of the water – representing their new life in Christ. For them baptism was a way of testifying about the work God has done in their hearts. It was a way to show the world that they were born again.
Sermon by Graham Mol
Repentance comes from sorrow for sin when we realise and are convicted for living in opposition to the will of God. It is when we realise that it was because of our rebellion, because of our decisions to live in opposition to His glorious standard, that Jesus came to offer His perfect life as a sacrifice, paying
for our sin. When our eyes are opened to this fact and our hearts are convicted by the Holy Spirit, we experience what Paul calls “godly sorrow” which leads to a change in us, a turning around, turning back to Jesus.

What does it mean to be alive in Christ?
Sermon by Carol Ravenscroft.
To remain distinct we need to be faithful in the little things. Otherwise little by little we take on the temperature of the world around us and we begin to resemble it – rather than our Saviour.
Sermon by Graham Mol
What will you choose?
As you face the challenges, the ups and downs of life. Whatever you may be going through, whatever you may be hoping for, will you choose to trust in Jesus, our foundation, our cornerstone?
Sermon by Graham Mol
The reality of life on this side of eternity, as you journey towards heaven, is that in order to get to, you have to push through. In order to get to the miracle God has for your life, in order to get the breakthrough you’re so desperately waiting for, in order to get the moment of healing, in order to see the change, more often than not you are going to have to push through some pretty tough circumstances.
Sermon by Calven Celliers
Call to God. Seek His face. Seek out the sublime in the world He has created, those moments where you feel small, where the troubles and irritations of the day pale in insignificance to that which is so vast, so unsearchable.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
God’s mission is your adoption. When we come to Christ, when we receive salvation, God not only graciously forgives us of our sins, He adopts us. We go from condemned orphans, who have no hope, to being adopted sons and daughters of Almighty God.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
The gift of gratitude, the gift of saying thank you, of singing Jesus’ praises for all that He has done, a deep, heartfelt gratitude is a precious gift to God. It is something that draws us closer to our Lord and Saviour. It opens our eyes to His goodness and greatness. And such gratitude, such love for God inspires us to give.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
Jesus is our anchor, rooting our identity in belonging to God. We have become children of God, heirs of the promise. No matter what storms may come. No matter the stresses and strains of the billowing waves. No matter the pull of current of the world, the ideologies and temptations. We are not moved from His presence for Christ is our anchor.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
Known most commonly as the ‘Parable of the Prodigal Son’ I’d like to suggest that this parable should actually be known as the ‘Parable of the Prodigal Father’, because the most startling act of extravagant and unrestrained love is exhibited in the way in which the Father responds to his two sons when he realizes that both of them were estranged from his Father-heart.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. (2 Peter 1:3)
This is one of those amazing, life-transforming truths we find in Scripture. Written by the Apostle Peter to believers living in different cities and contexts it is a word to those who belong to Christ living in trying and difficult times and so it remains just as relevant today as it did back then.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
The challenge to trust God is real, especially when life happens and you go from the mountain top of joy into the valley of despair, and it’s during those times, during the trying seasons of life when were least inclined, that we need to seek first the Kingdom of God, or as King Solomon put it, ‘seek God’s will in all you do, so that He can show you which path to take.’
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
“Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.” These words end off the hymn that Isaac Watts wrote. A hymn in which he expressed his response to the cross, the greatest expression of Jesus’ love for us. His words accurately describe Christ’s love for it is a love so great, so amazing, so divine that it demands a response from us.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
Learning to receive means that you and I need to be transparent, and in that vulnerability, we needed to accept, with grace, the love that is being tangibly offered. We can’t ask God to meet a need and then let pride hinder the way He meets it!
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
A friend who helps you draw near to God, to find strength in the Lord. That friend is a gift from God in your life. This is why we need friends, close friends who will stick with us who will love us as themselves. This is why we need to be that friend: an encourager, willing to shoulder their burdens, to come alongside another.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
To abide is a verb. It is active. Jesus has told us clearly what we must do in order to bear good fruit. Abiding in Christ is more than just a feeling or a belief, it’s something we do. Christianity is about far more than holding right beliefs or adopting right behaviours, it’s about entering into an intimate, living relationship with God, in which we experience life-giving fellowship with Him.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
A morning of praise and worship to celebrate and commemorate Pentecost.
You and I have been given the task of advancing the Kingdom of God on earth, and what’s more, we have been equipped with the necessary power and authority to defeat any obstacle in our way. This is our ministry as Christ followers.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
So often we get caught up in doing stuff for the Lord, worrying if we are doing enough, getting it right. Yes there are many things we can do to serve the Lord, it is a joy to serve Him. But what pleases Him most is placing our faith in Him.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
Not only did Jesus claim to be “the way,” He explicitly said, “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus isn’t a way, Jesus is the one and only way! If you decide Jesus is not for you, God doesn’t have a Plan B. Do you believe that?
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
Maranatha is an Aramaic word that means “the Lord is coming” or “come, O Lord.” We find this phrase at the very end of the Bible in the final line of Revelation. Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! This is the desire on many a believer’s heart. We look forward to the day when Jesus will return in glory. This is even more so in times of difficulty and persecution.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
Everyone has faith in something, but there is only one kind of faith that changes everything, and that is faith in Jesus Christ.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
Do you believe that this life is not all there really is? Do you believe that this life is preparation for a life to come, and that you’re going to spend far more time on the other side of death than you will ever get to spend here?
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
As Jesus walked towards the place of His crucifixion, the weight of sin and of His own exhaustion lay heavily upon Him. In His human frailty He was not able to carry His cross the whole way. He could not reach the His goal without the help of another.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
Today you and I can live a life filled with the presence of the abiding Holy Spirit, because of what Jesus set in motion on what we commemorate this morning. Palm Sunday is the anniversary of the day that Jesus rode into the city of Jerusalem on the back of a donkey as scores of followers surrounded Him with praise and palm branches.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
But what about you? Who do you say that Jesus is? Your answer to that question has an enormous impact on your life.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
If God is all-powerful and in control, then why does He allow so many bad things to happen in your life and my life? That is hard for anyone to understand. People have struggled with that question for thousands of years. No responsible person of faith can avoid wrestling with this question because if we are totally honest with ourselves then we have to recognise that sometimes what we know about God and what we see in real life can collide.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
It all started on a Wednesday morning on the 8th of February in a regular chapel service at a Christian university in Kentucky…
Sermon by Graham Mol.
Where are you? Not, what have you done? But, where are you? God’s search for us begins with a very simple question: “Where are you?” A question that brings us right into the very presence of God Almighty, El Shaddai.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
Guest preacher Norman Voss from the Broken Wings ministry preaches on Fasting.
One of the most prominent aspects of our current culture is a widespread sense of entitlement.
Entitlement is the belief that we inherently deserve privileges or special treatments, or that we have the right to something. And if we, as believers, are not careful, this sense of entitlement easily crosses over into how we approach our relationship with God.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
Camels have a weakness, an Achille’s heel, but this vulnerability is hidden by their legendary resilience. They will walk a thousand kilometres and more with seemingly endless endurance, giving little indication that they are about to collapse and then it just happens. They suddenly lay down and die. Human souls hide an Achille’s heel too. We have an amazing capacity to rally in the face of disasters and trials. We’ll rally and rally until one day we just can’t.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
God never wastes our time. He uses every season, even the waiting room of life, to shape us into the person He desires us to become. The reality is this: God is working while we are waiting.
Sermon by Calven Celliers.
“What would you do if Jesus was standing before you?”
As I’ve reflected on this question, I’ve come to the conclusion that to see Jesus, to see His face, to see Him standing before you, to be in His presence is the highest goal for a believer. In that moment before Jesus, we’ll know that we’ve made it. We’re home, we are where we belong: the place that our hearts have always longed for is to be in His presence.
Sermon by Graham Mol.
God wants us to bear fruit. It’s important, however, to remember that the works Jesus calls us to are not duty-driven, but love led. We do not offer ourselves unto service out of obligation, coercion, or to quench guilt, we offer ourselves in obedience to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and leading as He calls us to work with Him. God is on mission in the world, in the Church, in your life, and He wants you to align yourself with Him, to yield yourself to Him, and to offer yourself to His service.
Sermon by Calven Celliers
When we fully appreciate the power of sin, we will fully appreciate the power of Jesus as He delivers us from the power of sin, setting us free from enslavement. He heals us completely.
Sermon by Graham Mol
Our identity as Christians should impact the way we live out our faith. We are in a living relationship with Jesus; at the heart of what it means to be a Christian is to receive a new identity. In Jesus, we do not lose our true selves; we become our true selves.
Sermon by Calven Celliers
Living to please God does not exclude being able to please others. In fact, it’s mostly the opposite in that as we seek to serve the Lord, as we seek to be like Christ to be led by the Spirit, we will grow in wisdom and stature, we will grow in godliness. We will increasingly be a blessing to others.
